How do I start
training at Cromwell Martial Arts?
You can stop by the school to observe one of our classes and meet our
students and staff. You can also give us a call at (860)632-8188. We offer
an introductory offer for $18, which includes 3 group classes and a uniform.
How much does
it cost?
We usually suggest you try our introductory offer for $18, which includes
3 group classes and a uniform. After that, pricing depends on what type
of plan you choose. There are different programs and memberships ranging
between $35.00 - $99.00/month.
What type
of payment options do I have?
We offer month-to-month, 6 month and yearly programs. We accept cash,
checks, money orders and we also offer an “EasyPay” payment
plan that automatically deducts your monthly fee from your savings, credit card, or
checking account.
What are your
hours of operation?
We are open Monday-Thursday, 5-8PM and Saturday, 9AM-1:30PM. Please check

How often
can I come to class?
Our Kenpo classes meet 3 times per week. Arnis currently meets once weekly.
What age groups
do you instruct?
Our classes are broken up into ages 4 – 6, 7 – 13, and 14
and up.
Will my child
learn self-control, or become abusive?
For us, Karate is more about self development than it is about fighting.
Your child will learn discipline and restraint while developing confidence
and control. Please see some of our testimonials!
Do I need
to be physically fit or need much coordination?
You do not need to have an athletic background to join Karate. You will
start your training at beginners level and progress from there. Each student
that enters our school began for different reasons; some for confidence
and self-defense, others for exercise and coordination. Whatever your
level, we will work with you to become better than when you started.
Will your
classes help me become physically fit?
By enrolling and practicing Karate you will improve strength, flexibility,
balance, coordination, stamina, and reflexes. While learning self-defense,
you will also have fun! Our classes always begin with stretching and a
basic workout. We also encourage our students to practice their material
and workout at home.
How long will
it take me to obtain a black belt?
Each student progresses at his or her own rate. The average Adult student
can reach blackbelt level between 3 – 5 years. Your attendance,
motivation, previous experience, natural aptitude, and attitude all have
an impact on your progress.
Do you offer
private lessons?
Private lessons are offered. Please call for an appointment.
Do you offer
family discounts?
Yes. Family discounts are offered. Currently, second family members are
½ price with additional family members only paying $10.00/month.
Do you sell
martial arts products?
We carry many Martial Arts items in stock. Items not in stock can be ordered
through us and received in 5 – 7 business days. You may also order
products through our web site!
Do you offer
additional seminars, events, or offsite training?
Throughout the year we sponsor numerous seminars, demonstrations, self-defense
clinics and teach special classes in conjunction with the Cromwell Recreation

How will I
know if classes have been cancelled due to inclement weather?
You can call the school at (860)632-8188, watch WVIT Channel 30 or WFSB
Channel 3, and check the website for updated information.
